- Reflect your understanding that this position COULD involve you working during any of the scheduled hours of operation of the library. In most cases, the substitute corp is called upon when a staff member has a scheduled day off. Rarely, but it could happen, that the substitute corp is contacted to cover for emergency/unscheduled staff leave. Library staff will send an email to all members of the substitute corp listing hours needed for coverage. The first person to respond will be placed in the coverage schedule. Please indicate any time constraints you may have.
- If you joined the staff, are there any times of the year you wouldn't be available to help?
We need to rebuild our SUBSTITUTE POOL. If you would like to work occasionally to help cover the desk while staff members are out of the building, then this job is for you.
- ABOUT THIS POSITION: This position demands patience and excellent communication skills. As the front-line contact with patrons, the person filling this position must have strong interpersonal skills and be willing to talk books, tech, and life.
- DETAILS: This is a part-time substitute position with the hours yet to be determined.
- This position is eligible for paid leave and an employee contribution to a pre-tax retirement program. The starting salary is $12-$15 per hour depending on qualifications.
We are looking for the person who fits within our organizational value system and the ideal candidate must possess a willingness and interest in expanding ones' skills and learning new job activities. As our world changes our staff have greatly broadened their skills and taken on new tasks seemingly unrelated to "library skills." We want someone willing to seek out and take on new challenges.
LIBRARY EXPERIENCE IS NOT REQUIRED. WE WILL TRAIN YOU ON LIBRARY PARTICULARS.
